are used in analytical equipment installed to monitor air pollutants and for process analysis in industrial facilities. The range of application also comprises engine test benches for the development of combustion engines as well as mandatory emission tests and vehicle certification. These heated lines enable the transport of gas samples from the sampling point to the gas treatment system and analyser without falsification of measuring values. They offer reliable service 24/7 over many years, even under tough conditions.
The accuracy and repeatability of sensors and instruments in analytical equipment crucially depends on the treatment of the sampling gas and thus on the correct heating of the measuring gas conduits in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. Therefore, the heating within an analysis system is an important component of the entire measuring unit. With support of the specialists from Winkler, you can easily find the perfect solution for your particular requirements.

Heating Jackets are employed in many areas of industry, in research, laboratories and experimental facilities as well as in production. They are used to heat, for example: columns, reactors, UHV facilities, valves, piping, flanges, containers, drums, gas cylinders, etc. Heat input takes place via a heat conductor which is either crocheted into a carrier material or sewn on. Our heating jackets consist of glass fabric, glass yarn or silicate yarn. The heat conductor is either crocheted in or sewn on following a meander-type pattern. Thermal insulation is ensured by an insulating layer adapted to the operating temperatures. A robust outer cover, chosen specifically for the existing ambient and operating conditions, provides mechanical protection.

Drum and container heaters are used to heat up liquids in drums, canisters, buckets, hobbocks and IBC containers. Depending on the application, different amounts of heat are introduced to keep the contents at an optimum processing temperature. Thereby the viscosity can be reduced to allow for easy pumping and crystallisation can be avoided. Gas bottle heaters are used to heat compressed gas cylinders, e.g. to prevent icing at a large withdrawal rate and thereby to avoid negative effects on the required gas flow.
Features
Drum heaters, IBC heaters and gas bottle heaters are flexible heating jackets, that are intalled directly on the container. Thus they allow a very efficient and space-saving heating directly on site. The even laying of the heating cable as well as a cosumized temperature control avoid overheating of the container and its contents. The robust design and high quality materials and components ensure a safe and reliable operation.

Silicone heating mats are found in many areas of industry and technology. They are used for heating containers, funnels, bunkers or bins, flasks, tables, antennas, mirrors and reflectors, machine elements, metering cabinets, heating baths, medical equipment etc. A silicone heating mat consists of heat conductor tracks – made of wire or etched foil – which are embedded between two strong, moisture- and temperature-resistant silicone layers with glass fabric reinforcement. The entire appliance is vulcanized to form a homogeneous entity. Shape, performance, profile and heating zones can be optimised for specific applications. Silicone heating mats retain their flexibility, even with temperatures down to –40 °C.

PILZ laboratory heating mantles from Winkler have proven their worth in everyday laboratory use for decades and impress with their reliability and long service life. With a temperature range from 450 °C to 900 °C and flask volumes from 25 ml to 20 l, they open up a wide variety of applications. The matching accessories such as support rings, tripods, power selectors, temperature controllers and sensors support practical use in the laboratory.

Industrial Heating Mantles are employed in the pharmaceutical, chemical and metal recycling industry in order to support chemical and biological reactions or distillation processes. The heat input is ensured by a heat conductor which is crocheted into the carrier material. The basic design of this heating mantle series corresponds to the PILZ laboratory heating mantles. However, the industrial mantles are mechanically reinforced because of the flask sizes. The mounting fixture includes four sturdy eyebolts, loosely connected to a support ring. The safety heating mantle is equipped with an additional temperature sensor (300 °C) per heating zone. There are suitable control devices available for both versions.

Heated housings and manifolds are important components for the gas analysis in environmental and process measurement. With their help, the gas is maintained at the required temperature for an accurate measurement. Heated housings are suitable for temperature maintenance of pumps, filters or similar complex geometries. In a heated manifold gases can be mixed, buffered or passed through.

Heated Wall Bushings are on engine test beds or roller dynamometer test beds to channel measuring gases to the analyser-room securely and according to norms.

Where heat is not an undesirable by-product, but is purposefully induced, it is important to conserve it. For example, in heating industrial installations and chemical processes. Insulation plays an important role here. Only with the right insulation material does a heating system really work efficiently. Depending on the insulation grade and temperature difference, a reduction in the necessary heating power of up to 80% is possible with silicone insulation.
Materials selection
A - Solid silicone: Moulded parts according to customer specifications
We manufacture the moulded part to your specifications. So every insulation fits precisely to your application and attains a high degree of efficiency. We offer insulation in the form of caps, jackets, housings or plugs for the different geometries of your application. With additives, we are in a position to cater for your needs with regard to fire protection and mechanical stability.
B - Silicone foam: moulded parts and semi-finished products
We offer insulations made of silicone foam as moulded products, but you can also get involved yourself and cut the suitable insulation for you to size. Application areas are less complex geometries such as pipes and fittings.
C - Silicone panels: Semifinished product or mechanically formed according to customer specifications
We manufacture panel material for insulation in various thicknesses. You can source them as panels, cut shapes or complete housings. We would also be pleased to manufacture versions for you with integrated electrical heating systems.
